Meet the BGRA Board of Directors
The BGRA Volunteer Board of Directors is elected by the homeowners as specified in the Bylaws, which you can find here. In the Bylaws you can also find the responsibilities, powers, limitations and restrictions of the Board. The BGRA has no administrative employees. Volunteers do the work on a part-time basis. All questions and requests from members are handled by the Board members. Feel free to contact any Board member via email.
I moved into my first Bachelor Gulch home, Bear Paw Lodge, in August of 2000, but have since moved to Horizon Pass Lodge, where my husband Larry and I currently spend about three to four months a year. (I think that we have the distinction of being the only BG couple who were married at Zach's Cabin.) When not here, we're at home in Chappaqua, New York, where I've lived for 43 years, or Bimini, Bahamas, where we recently bought a home. Both of my sons, Jared (along with his wife, Alexis, and sons, Bo and Rowan) and Brian, share my passion for BG. Brian has recently moved to Avon with his fiance, Ned, and will be getting married in Bachelor Gulch next year., while Jared and family visit as often as his work schedule allows. I loved being here so much that I decided to retire after 22 years in the investment business. Skiing, hiking and biking sure beat running a hedge fund
Our principle residence is in Manhattan in NYC, but my wife, Karen, and I spend most of the winter and summer here in Buckhorn. I grew up in NJ and went to college and law school in the East. My entire legal career was spent as a corporate attorney with a large NYC-based law firm. I retired at the end of 2005 after 37 years in the profession. Since I retired I have skied at least 70 days a year. I also spend a lot of time in the summer on the Bachelor Gulch tennis courts and, with little success, on the Red Sky Ranch golf courses. My 3 daughters and their families (including 11 grandchildren) live in NJ and love to visit us here in CO.
I have been coming to Bachelor Gulch and Beaver Creek to ski with my family, husband Gary and daughter Ruby for over ten years now. In 2014 we bought our first home in Bachelor Gulch and we now enjoy time here during the summer and winter seasons. My main residence at present is Minneapolis, MN. I have served on many committees and task forces since retiring from a full career in retail buying and merchandising and I am enjoying getting to know the great people that make up the Bachelor Gulch community.
I have been associated with Bachelor Gulch Village since its inception, walking the homesites before there were even roads in our lovely resort. My husband, Russ, and I have lived in BG since 2000, first as Quartermoon homeowners and now as residents at the Horizon Pass Townhomes. I have an easy commute to my office at Slifer Smith & Frampton in The Ritz Carlton where I am the Managing Broker. I have lived full-time in the Vail Valley since 1996. Bachelor Gulch has been my playground for many years both personally and professionally.
I was born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and attended Michigan State University. Upon graduation, I moved to Chicago, where I was a paralegal for several years. My husband Jay and I have three adult children; Laurel, Charlie and Alexa. During those stay at home years, I started an interior design business and volunteered at our children’s school and our church, as well as other cultural and educational organizations, serving on numerous boards. We have been coming to the Vail Valley for over 19 years and made it a more permanent destination three years ago, when we purchased our condo at Firelight Lodge. We love skiing, golfing and traveling.
I grew-up in an attached row house in Queens NYC and, as a child, took great pride in annoying my neighbors. I have spent my career first as an executive in the health care industry and for the last dozen years as an advisor to leaders committed to achieving and sustaining national- scale role model performance. Married to Joan since 1972-lovely, thoughtful, and compassionate in all ways important. We live and raised our family in Pittsburgh--two sons and a daughter, currently living in Pittsburgh, Houston and Delaware. We were owners at the Ritz Club for 5 years and now own a condo in Firelight and plan to spend part of winter and most of summer in BG. I like to cross-country ski-used to compete in 34 mile x-c ski marathons, roller ski, snow shoe, mountain and road bike, run trails, hike, and hope that someday the world will be sane and peaceful.
I am a retired CEO of Spectrum Brands. I am a retired board member of Valspar, Spectrum Brands, Clean Lakes Alliance, EAS, Naked Juice and Outboard Marine. I am married to Julie and we have four children and three grandchildren. I was born in Texas and have lived in Florida, Illinois, Ohio, Wisconsin and currently Colorado. I graduated with an MS and MBA from Northwestern University and and BS from Western Illinois University. My interests include skiing, boating, hiking, water sports, writing, clean water and traveling
I am the Non-Executive Chairman of Rite-Hite Holding Corporation, a Milwaukee based, global manufacturer and distributor of industrial products and machinery. My wife Cathy and I have owned our home on Bachelor Ridge for over 15 years, with Milwaukee being our primary residence. We have 6 adult children and 17 grandchildren.
I have had over 45 years of experience in government and executive management. I am president of Public Safety Corporation of Florida which supports unique state and local government needs in public safety. Additionally, I co-founded Winefest at St Michaels, a Maryland charity. I am in the Ritz Carlton Residences and am the father of 3 and grandfather of 6.
